Underwriting, Director
This role works within Underwriting to drive OneAmerica success in the Advanced Underwriting Market for our AUL business line. The role brings value to OneAmerica by managing and assessing risk of high value applications and business partners. The position is responsible for accurately assessing complex risks to meet pricing expectations and minimize risk to the company. The role partners with distribution partners and internal patterns to successfully facilitate the placement of properly priced business.
Primary Responsibilities:
• Assess complex risk: medical, financial, avocation, occupation, etc.
• Communicate effectively with business partners
• Coordinate with distribution and internal partners
• Manage production queue
• Support underwriting team as needed
• Leverage strengths: mentoring, training (internal & external), projects
• Support department and corporate objectives
• Increase underwriting knowledge
• Focus on personal development
• Mentor/Share knowledge
• Promote OneAmerica underwriting

• B.A./B.S, College degree or equivalent experience
Recommended Education and/or Certifications
• One or more of the following designations: FALU, FLMI, CLU, CHFC
• EKG interpretation

• 15-20 years life and/or medical underwriting experience
• Approval Authority: Life =$10,000,000; LTC $5,000,000
