Indianapolis, IndianaThe primary responsibility is to oversee the growth and development of the Defined Benefit (DB) staff and to lead projects that will increase efficiency, reduce cost or deliver a higher quality of service to our DB clients. In addition, oversight of the calculation process; including, final and estimated retirement, termination, disability, death and Qualified Domestic Relations Order (QDRO) benefits by interpreting and analyzing legal plan documents, current pension law as applicable and all relevant participant data for multiple Defined Benefit pension plans and Pension Risk Transfer plans.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
• Calculate estimated and final retirement, termination, disability, death and QDRO benefits - 5%
• Supervisory duties of the DB staff - 35%
• Consult clients and plan sponsors regarding overall benefit administration questions relating to data integrity, specific participant circumstances, IRS/DOL regulations, document language and benefit calculations - 5%
• Lead projects that increase efficiency, reduce cost, and/or deliver a higher level of quality services - 25%
• Data reconciliation - 5%
• Initiate and participate in meetings with Disbursements, Technology, Actuarial staff and Compliance staff (internal problem solving) and external client and plan participant consulting - 15%
• Collaborate with Participant Service Center to ensure timely and cost-efficient servicing for PRT participants. Also maintain retirement plan call center for answering DB participant questions - 5%
5+ Yrs of related experience (Defined Benefit Pension Plans)
Bachelor's degree preferred
Strong math aptitude
Ability to interpret legal plan documents
Experience with MS Office
Knowledge of ProAdmin and ProVal a plus
CEBS preferred
